Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup of milk

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)

  • Oil for frying

Preparation mode

  • In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and baking powder.
  • Add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper and chopped parsley (if using).
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add the milk. Mix well.
  • Pour the egg and milk mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. If the dough is too thick, add a little more milk until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Heat the oil in a pan or deep frying pan until it is very hot (about 180°C).
  • Using a spoon, take small portions of the dough and carefully pour it into the hot oil.
  • Fry the dumplings in small portions to avoid crowding in the pan. Fry until they are golden and cooked inside, turning them to brown on all sides.
  • Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
  • Serve the savory dumplings while still hot, accompanied by a sauce of your choice, such as ketchup, seasoned mayonnaise or yogurt sauce with herbs.
