The dish is light, tasty and perfect to serve with meat, fish or even a vegetarian meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice tea

  • 2 cups of water tea

  • 1 pack of broccoli (only the floretes)

  • 2 chopped garlic cloves

  • 1/2 chopped onion

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil or oil

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste (optional)

Preparation mode

  • Wash the broccoli flowers well and cut them into small pieces.
  • Cook the flourish in boiling water with a pinch of salt for about 3 to 4 minutes until they are soft but still firm.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • In a pan, heat the olive oil or oil over medium heat.
  • Add onion and garlic, sautéing until golden and fragrant.
  • Add the rice to the pan and stir well, letting it sauté for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the 2 cups of water and season with salt to taste.
  • Let it cook over medium-high heat until it begins to boil.
  • When boiling, reduce the heat down, cover the pan and cook until the water is absorbed (about 15 minutes).
  • When the rice is almost ready and the water has been virtually all absorbed, add the cooked broccoli flowers.
  • Mix gently to incorporate broccoli into rice.
  • Cover the pan and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes for the flavors to mix.
  • Turn off the heat and let the rice rest for a few minutes before serving.
  • Release the rice with a fork and, if desired, finish with a hint of black pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, accompanying the main course of your choice.
