Founder, Art Appraisal Club
Armed with an analytical mind and a creative mentality, Ying Kwok had a wealth of art curation experience, before founding the Art Appraisal Club. Through a medium of platforms -- Facebook, newsletters, a selection of published articles in City Magazine, and more --, the Art Appraisal Club has emerged a space for local Hong Kong professional artist to critically think and discuss by new art exhibition news, reviews and art-related essays. She was the curator of the Hong Kong Pavilion at the year’s 57th Venice Biennale.
Prior to that, from 2006 to 2012, she was the curator of the Chinese Arts Centre in Manchester, England, delivering a wide-ranging artistic programme. Then, working independently from 2013, she co-curated international exhibitions, resulting in her being awarded the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship in 2015.
