Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief, Hong Kong Free Press
A critical linchpin in the Hong Kong’s English language media landscape, Tom Grundy, embedded himself in journalism before co-founding Hong Kong Free Press. Run by a small team of journalists, the Hong Kong Free Press has continued to work hard to ensure that independent, high-quality critical analysis continues to maintain a presence in Hong Kong, even as many have already lamented of the waning days of Hong Kong’s free press.
Prior to that, Tom was one of the most prolific journalists covering Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests of 2014. He’s also the force behind popular blog Hong Wrong as well as Hong Kong Helpers, a multimedia advocacy and legal campaign for domestic workers in the city.
