Sam Ding

Co-founder and CEO, VMFive
Location: Taiwan

Sam Ding gave up an annual salary of NTD2.5 million at MediaTek Inc to become an enterpreneur. Since then, he has experienced success in a number of global entrepreneurial competitions as co-founder and CEO of cloud technology startup VMFive. Passionate about scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship education, Sam bravely pursues his dream to challenge the future, rather than seeking ease and comfort. In the past six years, he has honed his approach during the entrepreneurial process, gained life experience and learned lessons from each failure. VMFive was established in 2014 and in December 2015, it had raised a total of US$6 million in its series A funding from Trend Micro, CDIB Capital International, GMobi, Cherubic Ventures, and others. In March 2016, VMFive was named in Asia Beat's list of top 12 start-ups. Over the next decade, Sam is determined to become an informed technopreneur with international vision, to set up a top team to solve international social issues with technology, and to continue to promote entrepreneurship education.
