Founder, Executive Chef and Managing Director, Grassroots Pantry

Marking her place in the Hong Kong culinary history books, Peggy Chan, almost single-handedly, ignited an organic plant-based food movement when she opened her restaurant Grassroots Pantry and it’s sister deli, Prune Organic Deli and Workshop, in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Armed with her overnight enterprenal success, she has touted her brand of clean and sustainable food production all over Hong Kong; turning her restaurants into an epicentre for instilling community awareness around plant-based food and supporting local farmers. Taking her role as a food activist a step further, Peggy launched Collective Table pop-ups in 2017, challenging restaurants and chiefs to think further on food waste reduction and environmental issues plaguing the food industry worldwide.
