Paul has heaps on his directorial plate and plenty to shout about as of late. For one, the TEN17P-produced Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis won the Silver Bear at the 66th Berlinale Film Festival while the big attention-grabber, Siargao, which Paul directed, took home a nifty seven major awards at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival—including Best Director. More a “role” call than anything, Paul has quite the to-do list for his production house: “I will be producing and directing a love story-drama starring Aga Muhlach and Bea Alonzo, to be shot in the US. I’m also working on a non-violent drug war flm based on a true story. TEN17P will be producing a movie starring [his wife] Toni, and [her sister], Alex Gonzaga. I am developing a flm, a biopic about a loyal Japanese solider, Hiroo Oonda, whose screenplay is by Ricky Lee, which I will produce and direct. I’m slated to work on a Carlos Palanca Award-winning script by Lilit Reyes. I’m also working on a project that brings to light the time when President Manuel L. Quezon saved 1,300 Jews by giving them refuge in the Philippines prior to WWII.”
