Pandelela Rinong

Pandelela Rinong

National Diver
Location: Malaysia

One of the most decorated national athletes, Pandelela Rinong has Commonwealth and World Championships tied to her name. But the young diver’s real big break came in 2012, during the London Olympic Games where she made headlines as well as history by becoming the first Malaysian female athlete to clinch an Olympic medal—a bronze in the 10m platform event. Since then, she has gone on a golden trail at various tournaments, including the KL SEA Games as well as more recently, the 2018 Commonwealth Games. A unique set of aquatic strengths and an affinity for wearing her faith on her sleeve make Pandelela a compelling public figure.
