A musical go-getter, Nathan Hartono has been in the music industry for over 10 years, making his debut in 2005 after appearing on Teenage Icon. His big shot to fame came in 2016 when he became the runner-up for the first season of Sing! China, the farthest a Singaporean national has ever gotten. Upon arriving back in Singapore, he was named the ambassador for the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning in recognition for his achievements to improve his Mandarin during the course of the programme. He was nominated for The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year award in 2016. Just this past Spring, Nathan released his first Mandarin album and he played the lead role in the Singaporean film When Ghost Met Zombie released this Summer.
