Lim Chong Tee
Always believing he had a greater purpose, Lim Chong Tee, since graduating from University has dedicated his life to solving clean water shortages as co-founder of Wateroam. A social enterprise, Wateroam provides a simple water filtration system with a reach that extends to 30 countries: from an orphanage in Bintan, Indonesia, a village in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to flood victims in Kelantan, Malaysia. Together, all three co-founders (Vincent Loka, David Pong and Lim) have created a series of ROAMfilters in different sizes for various amounts of water to be purified within minute, all in an easy-to-carry foldable membrane bag. With a number of awards to its name, Wateroam won Best Innovation for the “Early-Stage” category in the 2016 ASEAN Impact Challenge and the 2015 Shell LiveWIRE Awards. As of April 2018, WateRoam has brought clean water to more than 30,000 people in 14 countries across Southeast Asia. Within the next five years, the team hopes to help 30 million people in the region.
