Jazz Tan

Founder, Ytoday Sdn Bhd
Location: Malaysia

Affectionately known as Jazz to her loved ones, the 27-year-old Tan Yee Mei had to grow up a lot sooner than her peers, owing to the untimely loss of a parent. However, turning tragedy into tenacity, Jazz worked to the bone and is now CEO and founder of YToday and YouthToday.com. The latter, a portal connecting student groups with companies, has successfully streamed a million ringgit’s worth of funds to youth development programmes. A Forbes 30 Under 30 figure, Jazz now advocates political participation via voting and strives to instil a sense of confidence in youths. She names Datuk Lee Chong Wei as an inspiration.
