Heidy Quah

Founder, Refuge For The Refugees
Location: Malaysia

At only 18 years of age, Heidy founded Refuge For The Refugees (RFTR), an NGO that serves the community by providing education, and raising the standard of living for refugee children. This noble feat led her to receive the Young Leaders Award from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The past two years saw RFTR expanding to support 35 schools and two halfway homes across Malaysia and Myanmar, with each school teaching 50-70 children. RFTR even have a few of the schools under its umbrella using certified and internationally recognised syllabus. Aside from that, the NGO also runs an entrepreneurship programme so that students can study while supporting their families financially.
