CEO, South China Morning Post
A man of many trades, Gary Liu is accredited with personally tripling the revenue and traffic of New York-based news aggregator Digg -- where he worked for just over a year -- before becoming the CEO of the South China Morning Post in 2016. The 115-year-old newspaper, under the helm of Gary has received a much needed facelift; transforming it’s outdated Hong-Kong focused news media into a digitally enticing platform with global ambitions. Major emphasis has been put on the redistribution of resources, allowing the news newsroom to grow to almost a hundred, with the product and technology teams tripling in size -- from 40 to 120.
Prior to that, he was at Spotify, working on making the platform the ultra-successful music streaming service it is today.
