Once a frustrated hobbyist cheesemaker who traversed Asia seeking decent milk, Fengru Lin’s approach to sustainable food is now at the cellular level. Using proprietary technology, her company TurtleTree extracts healthy mammary cells from fresh milk, adds nourishment and stimulates them into producing their own bioidentical mammalian milk. The company was the grand winner of the Liveability Challenge 2020 and winner of a S$1 million (nearly US$750,000) Temasek Foundation grant.
