Founder of Apujan
Apu Jan has a master's degree in womenswear from the Royal College of Art in the UK and is a well-known fashion designer who resides in the UK. In 2013, he founded the brand APUJAN in London, which debuted at the 2013 Autumn/Winter London Fashion Week and has gone on to hold individual brand shows at London Fashion Week for many consecutive seasons, drawing significant attention from the media and fashion industry. Apu's works, themed around fantasy, literature and time, are characterised by various knitting skills and original fabrics with elements from ancient costume incorporated. In addition to self-run online stores and sales markets in Taipei and London, Apu also set up brand concept counters in Shin Kong Place Suzhou and Chongqing. In 2017, he was invited by Lin Hwai-min to design the dance clothes for Cloud Gate Dance Theatre Foundation. The knitting series he designed was on display in the special exhibition Mode in Taiwan at La Cité de la dentelle et de la mode de Calais in France. In 2018, he worked with the speciality coffee restaurant Caffé Florian to build pop-up counters in Taipei and Tainan. Apujan presented his Spring/Summer 2019 Collection, Those Vanishing Strange Creatures, at London Fashion Week in 2018.
