More than 150 international companies have registered to participate in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai for the seventh time, having participated in all previous CIIEs, organizers said Wednesday.
So far, the total contracted area of the exhibition, which will run from Nov. 5 to 10, has exceeded 360,000 square meters, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, at a press conference.
He noted that this year, the event will include a special new materials zone for the first time, aiming to create an international exchange platform for promoting innovation and development in the new materials sector.
To showcase key elements of future travel, this year’s auto zone will include exhibitors in areas such as autonomous driving, low-altitude economy and new types of energy storage for vehicles, Sun said.
More than 50 countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the CIIE 2024 comprehensive national exhibition, including Norway, Benin, Burundi and UNICEF, which will participate for the first time, he noted.
