-
1 large onion
-
1 and 1/2 cups of wheat flour

1 teaspoon paprika
-
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, if you like it spicy)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
1 ovo
-
1 cup of milk

Oil for frying
Preparation mode
- Peel the onion, but leave the root intact. Cut the onion into slices, but not all the way through, so that it maintains the shape of a “flower.”
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk.
- Coat the onion in the flour mixture, making sure all the slices are coated.
- Dip the onion into the egg and milk mixture, ensuring it is completely coated.
- Dip again in the flour mixture, coating well.
- In a deep saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 180°C.
- Carefully place the onion in the pan, cut side up.
- Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite sauce, such as barbecue sauce or ranch dressing.
