Ideal for warming on cold days or to be served at festive meetings, the mulled wine is easy to prepare and pleases many palates.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter of dry or soft red wine (according to your preference)

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 3 pieces of cinnamon in stick

  • 5

  • 1 small piece of ginger (approximately 5 cm), cut into thin slices

  • 1 orange (cut into slices or in pieces, with the shell)

  • 1 apple (cut into small cubes)

  • 1/2 cup of water

Preparation mode

  • In a large pan, heat the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and forms a golden caramel.
  • Carefully add the water to the caramel (it can sneeze a little). Mix until the caramel dissolves.
  • Add ginger, blackheads, cinnamon and orange slices.
  • Pour the wine into the pan and mix well.
  • Let the mixture warm over low heat for about 10 to 15 minutes, without boiling, so that the flavors of spices and fruits are incorporated into the wine.
  • In the last 5 minutes, add the apple cubes.
  • Serve the hot wine very hot, preferably in mugs or heat resistant glasses.
