In a step forward for the transport sector, the renowned brand KYC has opted for the version of the Refrigerated Mammut, now equipped with a CNG kit. This improvement responds to a persistent market demand, which was previously limited by warranty issues from the manufacturer and importer.

The Mamut Box Refrigerado Dual stands out for its load capacity of up to two tons, offering a useful volume of almost ten cubic meters. Its interior dimensions allow for optimal use of space, with a length of over three meters, a width of one meter seventy and a height of one meter seventy-five.

Mechanics and performance

As for its mechanics, this vehicle is presented with a five-speed manual transmission plus reverse, complemented by electric steering that promises greater comfort and precision in driving. The heart of this machine is a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, capable of delivering a maximum power of one hundred and twenty-two horsepower.

While performance is the central focus, safety and comfort have not been neglected in this model. The braking system combines discs at the front with bells at the rear, while the suspension consists of a rigid axle at the front and leaf springs at the rear.

The tires, with specific dimensions for loads, are mounted on steel rims, with the particularity of having dual wheels on the rear axle for greater stability and load capacity.

Aesthetically, the Mamut Box Refrigerado Dual features details that enhance its appearance and practicality. Access to the cargo area is via a double rear door, facilitating loading and unloading operations in tight spaces. The system has also been designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing engine, ensuring a smooth transition between using traditional fuel and CNG, providing additional flexibility in situations where access to CNG stations may be limited.

Comparison with other models in the Mamut line

The Mamut Double Cabin is useful for those who need to transport both cargo and passengers. With capacity for four people and up to 1.3 tons of cargo, this model balances comfort and functionality.

The loading area, although smaller than in the other models, is still generous with dimensions of 2,550 x 1,600 x 360 mm. The distinctive feature is the access to the loading area via three folding sides, offering unique flexibility in loading and unloading.

Mechanically, it shares many similarities with its range siblings, including the 1.6 cc, 122 hp engine. However, it has some differences, such as the MacPherson strut front suspension and single rear wheels instead of dual ones.

This month, the KYC Mamut Single Cabin Pickup model was also made available with a CNG kit, further expanding the brand’s offering for the transport market. This new launch allows for greater operational efficiency, ideal for those looking for an efficient and economical charging solution.

All models include air conditioning, power front windows, remote central locking, daytime running lights (DRL) and AM/FM radio with two speakers.

In terms of safety, the Mamut line does not skimp on features. ABS brakes with stability control (ESC), 3-point seat belts, rearview mirrors with turn signal and third brake light are standard on all models, ensuring a high level of protection for occupants.
