Huawei registered a sales revenue of 862 billion yuans ($ 120 billion) in 2024, exceeding 704.2 billion yuans from the previous year, according to annual report released on Monday. Net profit in the period was 62.6 billion yuans, performance considered in line with the company’s expectations.
Research and Development Investment (R&D) reached 179.7 billion yuans, representing 21% of annual revenue. Over the past ten years, Huawei has allocated more than 1.24 trillion yuans to the area, which today concentrates 54% of the company’s staff. At the end of 2024, the giant had about 113,000 R&D employees and more than 150,000 authorized patents worldwide.
Among the highlights of the year are growth driven by artificial intelligence and the resumption of Huawei devices, with advances in the Harmony operating system. It was also registered for the first time profitability in the company’s intelligent automotive solutions.
According to rotary president Meng Wanzhou, Huawei will continue to open its platform to partners and offering development tools in areas such as cloud, IA and operating systems. Headquartered in Shenzhen, Huawei is one of the main global ICT infrastructure suppliers and smart devices.
