Ingredients

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 1/2 cups warm water

4 cups of wheat flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil
- Sauce

1 can (400g) of peeled tomatoes

2 cloves of minced garlic

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Oregano to taste

Grated mozzarella cheese

Optional ingredients: pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, olives, ham, etc.
Preparation mode
- Massa
- In a small bowl, mix the yeast with the warm water and let sit for about 5 minutes, until it begins to foam.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast and water mixture.
- Add the olive oil and mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean tea towel and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Sauce
- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until lightly browned.
- Add the peeled tomatoes, crushing them with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper and oregano to taste.
- Let the sauce cook over low heat for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
- Pizza assembly and cooking
- Preheat the oven to 220°C.
- Divide the dough into two parts and roll each one out on a floured surface to form pizza disks.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the tomato sauce over the dough.
- Spread the grated mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Add desired topping ingredients.
- Place in preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, cut into slices and serve.
