Ingredients

  • 1 cup of ready couscous

  • 1/2 cup cassava flour

  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste

  • Chopped chives to taste (optional)

Preparation mode

  • In a large skillet, melt butter or heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes, until aromatic.
  • Add the prepared couscous to the pan and mix well with the onion and garlic.
  • Gradually add the cassava flour, stirring constantly to incorporate well.
  • Continue cooking and stirring until the crumbs are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add chopped chives, if desired, for an extra touch of freshness.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot as a side dish for meat, poultry or fish.
