The reopening ceremony of the Chinese embassy on Nauru was held on Monday night at a hotel in the southeastern part of the Pacific island country. The actor follows the decision of the two countries to sign a joint statement in Beijing, on January 24, on the resumption of diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level.
A Chinese embassy plaque was unveiled by Nauru’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Lionel Aingimea, and Luo Zhaohui, head of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, who attended the event as a representative of the Chinese government.
A Chinese national flag-raising ceremony was held on Monday morning on Nauru by a Chinese diplomatic team, marking the first time in nearly 19 years that the five-star red flag was raised in the island country.
