China is set for another bumper summer grain harvest in 2024, official data showed on Friday.
The country’s summer grain output totaled 150 million tonnes this year, up 2.5 percent or nearly 3.6 million tonnes year on year, according to a survey by the National Bureau of Statistics.
China’s summer grain sowing area is expected to increase to 26.6 million hectares in 2024, up 4,500 hectares from last year, maintaining stability. More than 23 million hectares of wheat have been sown, up 0.1 percent year on year.
