The Chinese delegation continues to excel at the ongoing Paris Summer Olympics. So far, it has won a total of two gold medals and four silver medals. The athletes in the delegation achieved victories in the knockout stage of table tennis and the group stage of volleyball, among other sports.
New Olympic records and medals for China in Paris 2024
World record holder Sheng Lihao of China set a new Olympic record with a score of 252.2 points in the men’s 10m air rifle competition, securing his second gold medal at Paris 2024. He was followed by Victor Lindgren of Sweden and Miran Maricic of Croatia.
“I am quite satisfied with my performance at the Paris Olympics. As you could see, I encountered some difficulties during the competitions, but I managed to hold on and complete them,” said Sheng, who also won the silver medal at the Tokyo event.
Meanwhile, in the women’s 10m air rifle, China’s Huang Yuting was just 0.1 points away from catching South Korean competitor Ban Hyo-jin and taking silver.
Earlier, Sheng and Huang, aged 19 and 17 respectively, won the Games’ first gold medal in the mixed 10m air rifle event.
