Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said on Sunday that China is ready to work with the United States to implement the consensus reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President-elect Donald Trump. The objective, according to Han, is to promote stable and sustainable development of bilateral relations.
Han made the statements during a meeting with US Vice President-elect JD Vance in Washington, DC, where he represented Xi Jinping at Trump’s inauguration ceremony this Monday, at the invitation of the North American side. He conveyed Xi’s greetings and congratulated Vance on the election.
Han highlighted that by adhering to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, the two countries can benefit their people, boost mutual progress and significantly contribute to global peace and development. He also highlighted the importance of economic and commercial relations, pointing out that, despite differences, there are great common interests and space for cooperation between the two nations.
