China is willing to collaborate with other countries to promote the responsible development and governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI)he said Zhang Guoqingspecial representative of President XI Jinping, during the AI Action Summitheld in Paris in the days February 10 and 11. Zhang highlighted the importance of technology as driving force of the new scientific and industrial revolutionreinforcing that China actively participates in global cooperation in the area.
In his speech, Zhang recalled that in October 2023, Xi Jinping presented Global initiative for AI governancebringing Chinese contributions to safer and more inclusive development of technology. He asked the international community to defend the use of AI for good, expand cooperation and reinforce the global governance of the sector. The representative also invited experts to participate in the Global Developer Conference 2025which will take place from 21 to 23 February in Shanghai.
During the summit, leaders of more than 30 countries signed a Declaration on inclusive and sustainable artificial intelligence. Zhang also met with the French president Emmanuel Macronconveying a message from Xi Jinping and reinforcing China’s commitment to strengthen partnership with France in the coming years.
