More than 2 billion passenger trips were made during the seven-day National Day holiday, which ended on Monday, the Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday.

From October 1st to 7th, a daily average of more than 286 million passenger trips was made, an increase of 4% compared to last year’s National Day holiday.

Of the total, 131 million journeys were made by train, with the number of average daily journeys increasing 6% year on year to 18.75 million.

Average daily air travel was 2.3 million during the holiday, an increase of 11% year-on-year.

Road trips made during the period reached 1.85 billion, while the number of trips by river reached 9.8 million, according to the ministry.
