China presented its first spectrum of aircraft wing types in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, in the northwest of the country. Aircraft wing design is the foundation of the aviation industry and also the key technology to support China’s independent innovation of aviation technology, said Tang Changhong, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
The wings determine the aerodynamic efficiency and flight stability of the aircraft. Spectrum is China’s first high-performance aircraft wing profile, consisting of more than a thousand wing types and a database for industrial use.
The spectrum is an achievement of 30 years of research by the Noroeste Polytechnic University, the main developer of the spectrum. It is of great importance to improve the independent innovation ability of aerodynamic design in Chinese aviation and support the sustainable development of high-end aerospace equipment in China.
