China-Europe freight train services recorded solid growth from January to April this year, with continued improvements in transportation capacity and efficiency, as well as service quality.
The number of China-Europe freight train services rose 10 percent in the first four months of 2024 from the same period last year to 6,184 trips, the China State Railway Group said on Monday.
About 675,000 20-foot equivalent units (TEU) of goods were transported by freight trains during this period, an annual increase of 11%, according to the company.
By the end of April, around 89,000 China-Europe freight train trips had been completed in total, serving 223 cities in 25 European countries, China Railway said.
