There was no economic and commercial negotiation between China and the United States, the China Ministry of Commerce spokesman, He Yadong, said on Thursday. According to him, information on advances in negotiations between the two countries “is unfounded and lacks a factual basis.”
He reiterated that China’s position remains open to dialogue, but stressed that any conversation should occur in conditions of equality and mutual respect. He also criticized the additional rates unilaterally imposed by the US, stating that the measure did not solve US internal problems and damaged the global economic order.
“If the US really wants to resolve the issue, they must suspend all unilateral tariffs on China and seek an equality dialogue,” the spokesman added.
