Ingredients
-
4 ripe bananas (silver or small)
-
1/2 cup of sugar
-
2 tablespoons of butter
-
1/4 cup of water
-
Cinnamon powder to taste (optional)
Preparation mode
- Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. If you prefer, you can also cut them into slices approximately 1 cm thick.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the sugar to the pan and stir constantly until it melts completely and begins to form a golden caramel. This will take a few minutes, so be careful not to let the sugar burn.
- With the caramel formed, carefully add the bananas to the pan.
- Cook the bananas for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until they are lightly browned and covered with caramel.
- Pour the water into the pan to form a more fluid sauce and stir gently until the caramel dissolves and mixes the bananas well. If you want a touch of cinnamon, sprinkle some over the bananas at this point.
- Remove the caramelized bananas from the pan and serve immediately, alone or accompanied by ice cream, whipped cream, or even with a slice of cake.
