The 137th China Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, announced on Thursday a 50% cut in booth rates for export exhibitors, as it seeks to relieve the challenges faced by companies in global trade. The initiative was released with the opening of the third phase of the event, dedicated to products focused on consumption and well-being.
According to the Foreign Trade Center of China, organizer of the fair, booths located in rural revitalization zones and other special areas will continue with total rent exemption. Updated rates were published on the fair’s official website and a standard 9 -square -meter stand now costs just over 10,000 yuans (about $ 1,375). More paid amounts will be reimbursed.
The third phase of the event, held in Guangzhou between May 1st and 5th, brings together more than 12,000 exhibitors distributed in 21 categories, with emphasis on toys, maternity, fashion, home, stationery, health and leisure textiles. The full program of the fair runs from April 15 to May 5, organized in three thematic steps: advanced manufacturing, quality furniture and quality of life.
The first two phases have attracted more than 220,000 buyers from 219 countries and regions, marking a new record. According to the organizers, the corridors and the intense activity between sellers and buyers demonstrate the strength of Chinese foreign trade, even in the face of the uncertainties of the global scenario.
