According to the latest development, Coinbase futures are listing cats in a dogs world (MEW), Memecoin (MEME), and Jasmycoin (JASMY).
In a statement made by Coinbase futures, it was reported that trading of the three tokens in question will begin on August 8, 2024.
It is noteworthy that two of the three tokens are memecoins. Thanks to their high volatility, memecoins make up a significant portion of exchanges’ earnings, especially on futures platforms.
Of the altcoins to be listed, JASMY is already listed on the Coinbase spot market, while the other two tokens are not listed on the spot market. MEW is notable for not being listed on Binance either.
Coinbase futures aims to compete with companies with large market shares in the futures market, such as Binance and Bybit, through memecoin listings.
