BMW and Chinese e -commerce Giant Alibaba announced a new phase of strategic partnership in China, focusing on Artificial Intelligence Integration (AI) based on Language Language Models (LLMS) with the next generation vehicles of the German automaker.

Collaboration includes the development of an AI mechanism fed by QWEN, LLM owner of Alibaba, which will bring to life the smart personal assistant of BMW. The premiere will take place in the Neue Klasse models, scheduled for release in 2026 in China.

The initiative is part of BMW’s 360 -degree AI strategy in the country, which prioritizes co -creation with local technological leaders. According to Sean Green, BMW Group CEO in China, the partnership with Alibaba is an example of joint growth with focus on innovation and mutual benefit.

BMW already has its largest network of R&D centers out of Germany in China, while Alibaba sees collaboration as an advance in the application of generative AI in advanced manufacturing. Companies have been working together since 2015 in areas such as cloud, logistics and intelligent manufacturing.
