Krypto para The X account of Changpeng Zhao (CZ), former CEO of the exchange Binance, operated despite Zhao currently being in prison.

The account was recently Solana (SOL) followed a themed news account, leading to interesting speculations.

Federal regulations strictly prohibit inmates from using cell phones, and Zhao largely adhered to those rules with her last post on May 22. But this latest follow-up to her account raises questions about how that could have happened.

There are a few theories on this. One possibility is that Zhao managed to smuggle a cellphone into his cell, which is a common occurrence in prisons. Forbes reports that phones are much easier to smuggle into minimum- or low-security prisons, like the FCI Lompoc II prison where Zhao is being held.

Another theory is that Zhao may have allowed someone else to access her X account, but did not inform her followers of the arrangement. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has proposed criminalizing the act, which it considers a high-risk violation, like fighting or property destruction. The proposal would prohibit inmates from accessing, using or maintaining social media accounts, or directing others to do so on their behalf.

There is also a possibility that Zhao’s account was hacked, which is a common occurrence on social media platforms.

Zhao’s last tweet was a congratulatory message to Binance’s current CEO Richard Teng for a pizza he made for Bitcoin Pizza Day. Zhao is scheduled to be released on September 29.
