Cryptocurrency fund founder Charles Edwards weighed in on the potential impact of such an announcement. “There’s a small chance that Bitcoin will reprice in a once-in-a-lifetime way starting next week,” Edwards said. While the probability is relatively low for now, he acknowledged that the potential impact of an official Bitcoin reserve asset announcement would be unprecedented. “Small probability * large impact means Bitcoin is ridiculously undervalued,” he added.
Trader Andrew Kang also weighed in on the speculations, emphasizing the importance of the rumors. Kang said, “It is said that BTC will be featured as a national asset held in the form of treasury reserves, currently serving as a platform for many politicians.” He emphasized that whether the first attempt is successful or not, the discussion of Bitcoin as a national reserve asset brings an extremely obvious asymmetric upward scenario.
Kang detailed the potential ramifications, suggesting that if the US were to accept Bitcoin as a reserve asset, other countries could follow suit. He also mentioned rumors that a major Asian conglomerate is stepping in to play similar roles to Coinbase and MicroStrategy. “This bullish development happened faster than expected, but I’m not complaining, this is going to be a great month,” Kang concluded.
