Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the need to boost high quality development and deepen reforms during his visit to the province of Guizhou, in southwest China, between Monday and Tuesday. He highlighted the importance of innovation, real economy and cultural preservation as pillars for Chinese modernization.
During his inspection, Xi visited the autonomous subregion of the Miao and Dong of Qiandongnan ethnic groups, where he talked to residents and traders, as well as knowing cultural preservation initiatives. He stressed that the traditions of ethnic minorities are an essential part of Chinese culture and should be preserved and developed in a creative way.
In the provincial capital, Guiyang, Xi requested the strengthening of the digital economy and the new energy sector, as well as the creation of a fair and transparent business environment. He also defended the advance of modern agriculture adapted to local characteristics and the valorization of the provincial’s historical and cultural heritage as a motor for economic growth.
Accompanied by Cai Qi, director of the China Communist Party Central Office (CCCH), XI reinforced the importance of party leadership in high quality development, installing efforts to ensure effective governance and exemplary behavior among party members.
