China has asked G7 to stop interfering with its internal affairs and focus on promoting international cooperation, said Mao Ning, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday. The statement comes after the publication of group communications that criticized the Chinese position on Taiwan, maritime disputes and exports to Russia.
Mao stated that the G7 statements distort the facts and seek to defame China. She emphasized that Taiwan is a matter of non -negotiable national sovereignty and that the situation in the Southern Sea of China is stable, with free freedom of navigation. The spokesman also rejected the allegations that Beijing was providing lethal weapons to Russia, highlighting Chinese commitment to strict control of double-use exports.
China has also rejected criticism of an alleged “excess capacity” in the economy, accusing the G7 of politicizing business relations and destabilizing global industrial chains. Mao Ning urged the group to abandon the Cold War mindset and act responsibly to face global challenges, promoting international development and cooperation.
