Brazil will be the host of BRICS 2024 leaderswhich will occur in the days July 6th and 7thno Rio de Janeiroannounced the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieiraon Saturday. The meeting will bring together heads of state and government of the member countries and partners of the bloc to discuss strategic topics of GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT AND COOPERATION.
The choice of Rio de Janeiro as the event’s headquarters reflects the city’s success in Organization of the G20 leadersheld in November 2023. Brazil, which took over Rotary Presidency of BRICS on January 1is coordinating the preparations and defining the agenda of the meeting.
“We will welcome heads of state of the 20 countries who are full members and partners of the BRICS, where we will make important decisions about development, cooperation and improvement of living conditions in these nations,” said Vieira.
The Mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paescreated a special committee to organize the event, noting that the summit will strengthen international relations and will drive exchanges cultural, commercial and touristreinforcing the role of the city as the headquarters of global meetings.
