Brooklyn Nets, a New York-based NBA team, played on Monday its traditional Chinese New Year celebration, facing the Kings Sacrament. In reference to the serpent’s year, players wore personalized shirts, and commemorative messages were displayed on social networks and during the match.
The night featured cultural presentations, such as dances with fans and a performance of soundtraditional Chinese instrument. The audience received good -luck red envelopes and had the opportunity to prove typical Chinese cuisine in gym. A special line of commemorative products was also launched for the occasion.
The Chinese ambassador in the US, Xie Feng, accompanied the event alongside businessman Joseph Tsai, owner of Brooklyn Nets. Despite the festivities, the New York team was defeated by Sacramento Kings 110 to 96. The celebration is part of the platform Nets Unitefranchise initiative to value cultural diversity in the League.
