According to data shared by OnchainLens, the Bhutanese government sent 255.26 BTC, worth approximately $26 million, to two unrecognized cryptocurrency wallets. Considered together with their previous transfers, these funds were probably transferred to the cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
Currently, the Bhutanese government holds 11,433 BTC worth approximately $1.16 billion. The country accumulated this by mining Bitcoin with the hydroelectric power made possible by its geography.
In addition, within an hour, the Bhutanese government transferred 377.78 BTC to two different addresses, valued at $38.57 million. With all recent transfers, Bhutan has transferred 633 BTC worth approximately $64 million in total to addresses thought to be cryptocurrency exchanges, and they currently hold 11,055 BTC worth $1.13 billion.
