Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD announced, this Tuesday, the expansion of its factory in the Manaus Industrial Center to be able to produce Blade generation batteries, intended for the manufacture of electric buses.

The Chinese company also announced a new busbar production line that will serve both the factories located in the Manaus Free Zone (ZFM) and those in São Paulo and the new factory in Bahia, which produces light electric vehicles.

Manufacturer of electric vehicles in Brazil and specialized in solar energy technology, BYD set up shop in the Manaus Free Trade Zone in 2019 and began production in 2020. Our factory is fully automated, but it will create new jobs,” she said.

“BYD brings to Manaus the most modern in the electrification segment in Brazil, which will directly benefit the population, mainly because it also contributes to the decarbonization of mobility in the country”, added Bosco Saraiva, superintendent of the Manaus Free Trade Zone.
