Pojok UMKM BCA has received positive responses from various stakeholders for the positive impact it has had. Since its inauguration in January 2024, 56 local MSMEs have successfully participated in this program and have managed to complete transactions worth Rs 151,841,500.
Pojok UMKM BCA is a corporate initiative to expand market access for local MSMEs as well as a promotional platform for customers and the community at large. Apart from opening sales outlets, Pojok UMKM BCA also conducts a series of training sessions to strengthen the quality of products produced by MSMEs. West Sumatra is the first province in which the UMKM BCA Pojok operates.
KCU BCA Padang Director Robert Siahaan said: “Since its opening in January, Pojok UMKM BCA at KCU Padang has continued to attract customer interest. While carrying out banking operations, customers can purchase products offered to SMEs. “We are pleased that this initiative is not only beneficial to MSME entrepreneurs but also provides a delightful experience to our customers.”
Over six months, BCA worked with businesses to select products on display at Pojok UMKM BCA, ranging from food and beverages to crafts. Every month 30 local brands are displayed, which are periodically replaced by other products from SMEs from Padang and surrounding areas. This is intended to offer equal opportunities between companies and present diverse and quality options to potential buyers.

To ensure smooth transactions and encourage digital banking education of customers, BCA provides access to payments in the form of QRIS for each transaction. This initiative has been well received by MSMEs and customers, resulting in high adoption of QRIS in Pojok UMKM.
In addition to providing a platform and access to promotion, BCA’s commitment to the advancement of the popular economy is also demonstrated through the training of business agents. Some of the training provided includes packaging training with the Indonesian Design Development Center (IDDC) of the Ministry of Commerce, and self-declaration halal certificates to make MSME products suitable for export. The overall MSME support program implemented in KCU Padang also received recognition from the Provincial Government of West Sumatra and Bank Indonesia West Sumatra.
Prisca Maria Pratana, Business Representative of Pojok UMKM BCA, stated: “We are grateful to BCA for inviting us to participate in Pojok UMKM BCA. It is an honor for Lile Chocolate. Not only do they give us space to sell our products, but we also receive training that helps us produce quality products demanded by the public.
The Pojok UMKM BCA program is part of the Bakti BCA CSR programme, which aims to develop the businesses of individuals or MSMEs to develop independently. BCA has undertaken several initiatives, including facilitating the issuance of 1,000 halal certificates by the end of 2023. This program will continue until 2024 with the goal of issuing 2,000 certificates to MSMEs throughout Indonesia.
BCA also provides export readiness training to 60 MSMEs spread across Indonesia until September 2024. In addition, BCA has promoted 15 Bakti villages spread across several provinces. BCA’s commitment is also reflected in the growth of its MSME loans, which increased 12.7% year-on-year to Rp114.4 trillion.
“We are very satisfied with the response from customers and businesses to Pojok UMKM BCA in Padang. This program is a tangible form of BCA’s commitment to supporting people-owned businesses. We hope that Pojok UMKM BCA outlets can soon be introduced in other branches, so that SMEs in other regions have the same access and opportunities to develop their businesses,” said Freddy Iman, Executive Vice President of Commercial and SME at BCA.
