Make the dairy-free chocolate cake with the ingredients below, following the preparation instructions below:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup of warm water

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (such as canola oil)

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 cup of hot coffee

Preparation mode

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Grease and flour a cake pan approximately 22 cm in diameter or a medium rectangular pan.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the warm water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • Gradually add the liquid ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  • Add the hot coffee and mix until the dough is smooth and homogeneous. The dough will be very liquid, but this is normal.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and place in the oven.
  • Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn it out and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Decorate or serve as desired. You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top or top with a dairy-free chocolate frosting.
