Oven pasta, also known as oven pasta, is a delicious pasta recipe that is previously cooked, combined with sauce and other ingredients, assembled on a dish and baked in the oven until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients

500g pasta (can be penne, fusilli, rigatoni, or whatever you prefer)

500g ready-made tomato sauce (or homemade sauce)

250g grated mozzarella cheese
-
100g grated parmesan cheese
-
200g diced ham or turkey breast (optional)

200g diced cheese (optional)
-
1 chopped onion
-
2 cloves of garlic, chopped

Olive oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste

Oregano (optional)

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Preparation mode
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Cook the pasta in salted water following the instructions on the package, but leave it a little al dente as it will continue to cook in the oven.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat a pan with olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
- Add the tomato sauce to the pan and season with salt, pepper and oregano, if preferred. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
- Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the pan with the sauce, mixing well so that all the ingredients combine.
- If you want, add the ham or turkey breast cubes and the cheese to the mixture, mixing them together with the pasta.
- Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a large dish lightly greased with olive oil. Top with half the mozzarella cheese and a little parmesan cheese.
- Place the other half of the macaroni mixture over the cheese, then top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and more Parmesan cheese.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for around 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese melts and becomes golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve while still hot.
