PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Bakti BCA program, is collaborating with Pasar Kangen on the event “Gebyar BCA Merah Putih: Indonesia Banget!” which will be held from 22 to 24 August 2024 at the Plataran Trimurti open-air area, Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta. This collaboration with Pasar Kangen demonstrates the commitment to empowering local MSMEs while preserving Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
Pasar Kangen, an annual event held in Yogyakarta since 2007, revives the warmth of tradition through culinary delights and local Nusantara crafts, all in a nostalgic and ancient atmosphere. The event aims to satisfy visitors’ yearning for authentic Indonesian flavours. This year, Pasar Kangen has brought the celebration to life with the participation of about 60 local micro-enterprises, offering delicacies such as es goyang, wedang ronde, kerak telor, Lumajang’s signature satay koyor, dawet ireng and selendang mayang.
Along with Pasar Kangen’s diverse offering of local dishes, this special celebration will also feature MSMEs assisted by Bakti BCA and BCA Bangga Lokal, who will showcase their signature products.
In the Prambanan area, there will be no less than eight stalls of MSMEs assisted by Bakti BCA, including the Doesoen Kopi Sirap coffee truck, Wayang Tourism from Wukirsari Village, Djoe Hoa soy sauce, products from schools assisted by Bakti BCA and Wastra Bakti BCA, which features a selection of Nusantara fabrics from Kampoeng Batik Gemah Sumilir and Sijunjung Tourism Village.

Haryn, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility at BCA, said, “The campaign is one of Bakti BCA’s initiatives to rekindle pride and love for Indonesian culture. This event not only showcases the beauty of traditional arts, but also introduces a range of dishes and the handicraft heritage of the Nusantara people. To achieve this goal, we are collaborating with Pasar Kangen and inviting MSMEs supported by Bakti BCA and BCA Bangga Lokal to participate, in the hope that local MSMEs can continue to grow and compete in domestic and international markets.”
BCA has prepared a series of exciting surprises to welcome visitors to Pasar Kangen.
In addition to hunting for traditional culinary products, visitors to Pasar Kangen can enjoy music that blends contemporary elements with the richness of Indonesian culture.
Several musical groups and performers will take to the stage at the event, including Jogja Hip Hop Foundation, Angklung Malioboro and Ririn Sinden Gemoy. This year, Pasar Kangen will also host several Independence Day-themed competitions to enhance the festive atmosphere with the spirit of togetherness and joy that characterizes independence celebrations. All of these activities can be found at Pasar Kangen’s mini stage.

To round off the event, “Gebyar BCA Merah Putih:Indonesia Banget!” will also feature a musical performance titled “Nusantara: Jiwa Surga Khatulistiwa” by Prambanan’s Ramayana Ballet. This show tells a wayang story inspired by Indonesian legends through traditional dances, songs and music from various regions of Indonesia. The show will be hosted by Bakti BCA Ambassador Nicholas Saputra, Puteri Indonesia 2024 Harashta Haifa Zahra, and MALIQ & D’Essentials.
