The Chinese capital unveiled the Beijing Pass, a multi-purpose card for international visitors, on Wednesday, making it easier to pay for transportation, tourist sites and shopping malls.

With a maximum balance of 1,000 yuan (US$140.16), the Beijing Pass not only enables card payments for subways, railways and taxis within Beijing, but also for public transport in more than 300 cities across China, including major tourist destinations such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Nanjing.

In addition, international visitors can also use the card to purchase tickets to 30 popular tourist attractions in Beijing, such as the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and the Badaling section of the Great Wall.

Starting Wednesday, international visitors can purchase or recharge the Beijing Pass at 15 locations including Beijing Capital International Airport, Daxing International Airport and Beijing Railway Station using a valid ID.
