From 20 to 25 July 2024, His Excellency Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, visited Egypt, Israel and Qatar.
In Egypt, he met with HE Ambassador Ismail Khairat, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Egyptian Consular and Expatriate Affairs, and with HE Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia-Pacific, Australia and New Zealand Affairs, while in Israel he met with HE Mr. Israel Katz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, and in Qatar he met with HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State of Qatar.
The Deputy Minister discussed and exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, especially in Gaza, with the three counterparts, and also requested support in the negotiation on the release of the six Thai hostages who remain in Gaza.

The three countries have good relations with Thailand and share the view that the release of all hostages is an absolute priority for all countries, and they pledged to support Thailand in this matter, despite the difficult difficulties. On the same occasion, the Deputy Minister also donated USD 100,000 to the Egyptian Red Crescent to support its work in humanitarian assistance missions, visited the Thai Students Association in Cairo under Royal Patronage, and also visited Thai workers in Israel.
