Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Preparation mode

  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt.
  • Add the vegetable oil to the flour mixture and mix well.
  • Gradually add the warm water to the mixture, stirring continuously, until a cohesive dough begins to form.
  • Transfer the dough to a clean, floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into small balls of the desired size for the pastries.
  • Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a thin layer, about 2-3 mm thick.
  • Place the filling of your choice on one side of the rolled out dough.
  • Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, forming a half moon.
  • Press the edges with a fork to seal.
  • Repeat the process until all the dough and filling have been used.
  • Fry the pastries in hot oil until golden and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
